A Commercial Roll-Off Container can come in a variety of volumes, although they typically are all rectangular cubes no longer than eight feet wide. They are all a uniform width to be able to fit in one lane on any United States highway and also fit on local roads without being considered an “oversized load”.  With one dimension, their width, being standardized, the dumpsters achieve different volumes by varying their length and height.  

These roll-off containers have an open top.  They will be tarped when picked up by the Commercial Roll-Off Dumpster Service so items will not fall out the top of the dumpsters while on our local roads. They almost always have a rear door or doors so heavier items can be walked into the dumpster.  The commercial dumpster customer or user can choose to throw their Commercial Waste Debris over the top of their rented dumpster or use the door.  Usually we find commercial customers use the door in the beginning of a project and when the dumpster gets closer to being full, they securely latch the door or doors and then discard their remaining debris by tossing it over the top.  

The term “Roll-Off” in the name of this type of commercial dumpster comes from their method of delivery.  They are rolled off the back of the delivery truck using casters or wheels onto the driveway, parking lot, job site, or loading dock at the commercial location.
